I can remember when I was a little girl, I would be made fun of because I had teeth that stuck out of my mouth and I was thin as a pencil. When kids would call me names, I would say to myself “sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me”. I would say those words in my head but I still felt the sting of how those words made me feel.
Dr. Norris loves to read. Every few months he will read a great book and he will encourage his staff to read it also. This past month the book was “Sticks and Stones Exposed”. What a great book! As I read the book it brought back the memories of growing up and not wanting to smile.
Working in the orthodontic field, I have the chance to meet many patients that have felt the same way I felt about my smile. As I listen to the stories that are shared, I feel their sadness as they speak. I am so glad that I am in a place that allows me to make a difference in people’s smiles.
What a fun time it is to watch Dr. Norris create beautiful smiles for all who come to see him. I can honestly say it is the best job ever, seeing beautiful smiles being created every day.
If you would like to read a great book, pick-up “Sticks and Stones Exposed” by Dave Weber.
